SERVICES OFFERED - OUR METHODS OF TRAINING

1. TRADITIONAL TRAINING
FREE WEIGHTS, SELECTORIZED MACHINES AND AEROBIC MACHINES: Specific programs will be designed to reach each client’s needs and goals using a combination of methods mentioned above. Exercises use both single joint movements and compound movements.
CARDIO-RESISTANCE: The most effective way to reap the benefits of both aerobic and anaerobic strength training to achieve maximum results. We will circuit resistance exercises with (1-2-3-5-10-20 minute) bouts of cardiovascular work. In particular we focus on strength, power, high rep toning and slow burn training.
2. MODERN TRAINING
FUNCTIONAL TRAINING: Incorporates pushing, pulling, locomotive, level changes and rotational movement patterns all done in saggital, frontal and transverse planes of motion. Many pieces of equipment such as, swiss balls, medicine balls, bands or tubing, etc. are incorporated into the workout.
CORE STABILIZATION/ CORE STRENGTHENING: Taking movements that isolate the muscles of the core, (abdominal, low back, hip flexors) either in a static position or dynamic position.
3. FLEXIBILITY TRAINING
PASSIVE STATIC STRETCHING: The client allows the trainer to move his or her joints through a full range of motion and increase length of the muscles. We utilize the power vibration to keep our clients' achieving greater flexibility results.
PROPRIOCEPTIVE NEUROMUSCULAR FACILITATION (PNF): A stretching technique utilizing a series of contract-relax cycles for the purpose of stimulating the body’s own nervous system to allow deeper stretches.
4. MIND-BODY EXERCISE
GYROTONIC: Based on the principles of tai chi, yoga, swimming and ballet. Gyrotonic is a way of increasing range of motion, coordination and strength by performing prescribed graceful, circular motion using the pulley tower.
PILATES: We use a contemporary approach emphasizing neutral spine and neutral pelvic alignment. Benefits include core stability, activating and conditioning deep postural muscles and balancing strength with flexibility.
YOGA: A practice utilizing basic hatha and iyengar style with an emphasis on proper breathing, mental focus, postural awareness and increased flexibility.
5. YOUTH TRAINING
Ages 8-13 We utilize our sports performance institute to work with our youth on balance, motor skill enhancement (coordination), conditioning, boxing bag, callisthenics and an introduction to strength. We like to build self esteem, confidence and utilize sport specific exercise in the participant's sport of choice. The focus is on keeping routines fun, thereby making fitness an enjoyable part of their everyday life.
Ages 14-22 We utilize our sports performance institute to work on agility, power (explosive training), speed, quickness, change of direction, strength and stability. Our teen athletes will be in better condition, stronger, faster and an all-around more powerful athlete than others.
6. SPORT-SPECIFIC TRAINING
  We take very specific exercises geared towards the function of the participant’s sport and incorporate it with agility, stability, speed, quickness, power (plyometrics), change of direction, strength, balance and conditioning. With each sport being different, but sharing some parallel skill sets, we emphasis what is important for the participant’s particular sport.
7. MARTIAL ARTS/SELF-DEFENSE
KICKBOXING-BOXING: We work with beginner to more advanced. We incorporate balance, coordination with an emphasis on a variety of punches and kicks.
8. BALANCE TRAINING
  Proprioceptive and neuromuscular training to help improve core muscles. We love working with this method with any of our clients from 40 years and up. We use balance equipment such as the bosu, boards, dynadiscs, airex pads, and one leg cone touches.
9. MASSAGE THERAPY

Our registered dietitian’s utilize very sound proven techniques. They will customize a food menu for you based on your lifestyle, activity level, stress level and goals. We recommend dietary supplements on a as per need basis.
SHOPPING TOUR Our Registered and Holistic Certified Nutritionist Angela Schiz will provide an educational shopping experience at Whole Foods Market, Fairway Market, or any local grocery store chain of your choice. By the end of this one hour tour you will be able to understand food labels to make healthier choices for yourself and your family plus an added benefit of choosing healthier prepared/packaged foods without the guilt. We all know that with today's busy lifestyle we always don't have time to make a home cooked meal.
IN HOME MEAL PREPARATION Our Registered and Holistic Certified Nutritionist Angela Schiz will be available for in home meal preparations,cooking demonstrations for individual, family lunch or dinners. Turn your favorite high fat high calorie meal into a low-fat version without giving up flavor or taste. She will also be available to help plan nutritional healthy dinner parties.
